An aerodynamic analysis that accounts for the effects of every parameter might seem daunting. In numerical-optimisation analysis, an aerodynamic code is coupled with an optimisation routine to manage the values of the design variables automatically, with the aim of minimising a given objective function. This approach is extremely flexible and able to meet multidisciplinary requirements.
