The dramatic growth in computing power — in particular the increasing use of parallel computers with large numbers of processors — has brought the cooling of computing rooms to the fore, making it a critical factor in the correct operation of the latest supercomputers. It therefore proved worthwhile to study the thermo-fluid-dynamic behaviour of a computing room in order to configure the airflows within it optimally.
