Cubit supported SECO’s R&D Unit in the design of the VD24 audio module, conducting preliminary assessment activities to define the mechanical dimensions of the device and identify the components to be used. Following the technological analysis of the identified and agreed-upon solutions, co-design of the electrical schematics, BOM, and 3D PCB Layout was carried out, leading to the realization of printed circuits and the prototyping of the device. The prototype was tested in a climatic chamber within the range of -40°C /+65°C.
VD24 is a high-power Class D audio amplifier with high PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio), capable of providing the following power outputs:
2x15W into 8-ohm loads @ 24Vin
2x7W into 8-ohm loads @ 12Vin
2x11W into 4-ohm loads @ 12Vin
The module’s I/O interfaces include: a power input connector, a 3.5mm audio jack, or a 4-pole microfit connector for audio signal input, and two terminal blocks or 2-pole microfit connectors for stereo audio output.
VD24 supports an input voltage range of 8-28Vdc, enabling the audio output in stereo mode as follows: 2x15W @8ohm with 24Vdc input power, 2x7W @8ohm with 12Vdc input power, and 2x11W @4ohm with 12Vdc input power.
